Saxon is a neurodivergent, non-binary trans person who uses they/them pronouns.
Through Actuality Equine, they stand to actualize all aspects of the horse industry. From equine-centered husbandry practices, to riding ethics, to accessibility for underrepresented and underserved equestrian communities.
Saxon reserves the right to terminate a session or ask observers or guardians to leave if inappropriate remarks, conversation of regressive politics, or repeated intentional misgendering continue to occur after Saxon issues a verbal warning.
Financial Accessibility
Underrepresented Equestrians
Sliding scale rates for sessions, distance services, consulting, and educational programs are available for LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, AAPI, and disabled professionals, youth, and amateurs alike. Please email Saxon to find the price point that is right for you.
Equine-assisted therapy programs
As a neurodivergent person who has benefitted first-hand from equine-assisted mental health programs, Saxon is very familiar with the healing power of working with horses. Having moved through the Rolf series themselves, they also understand the importance of bodywork in the restoration of connection between our minds and bodies. Maybe you’re seeking long-term postural changes and emotional resiliency skills for the horses in your psychiatric program, or perhaps you want to treat your therapeutic riding herd to a restorative day of structural massage. E-mail Actuality Equine to find an option that works for you and your practice or non-profit.
Service and therapy animals
Whether your mini is a task-trained service animal, or your show reiner moonlights at assisted living facilities, horses working in therapeutic positions give us much more than we can measure. Sliding scale rates are available for equines who put in their service hours. E-mail Saxon to find a service and price point that suits your team’s needs.
Penalty Charges
$50/each in addition to session rate and travel fees
Wet Horse
Please, no bathing or rinsing directly before sessions. In cases of rain, allow ample time to bring your horse inside for towel drying.
Dirty Horse
Rolling is an essential and healthy behavior for our horses. A dirty horse is a happy horse! Help Saxon minimize biosecurity risks by ensuring that your post-roll pony is free from major patches of mud and manure before their session.
Silicone conditioners
Check the ingredients of your grooming products and be sure to wash any silicone products out of your horse’s hair at least the day before their session. Keep in mind that detangling sprays used in manes and tails can still transfer onto coat hair and you may be charged even if there is no silicone spray directly on the body.
Actualize your horse’s coat health with a lanolin conditioner like The Pink Stuff.
Late cancellation (<48 hrs)
Please allow Saxon at least 48 hours notice before cancelling or changing your appointment to give them an opportunity to give your session slot to another horse.
Late arrival (>15 minutes)
Saxon allows 2 hours for each appointment, for every equine. Late arrival takes valuable minutes out of your horse’s session time. Structural integration is not a benign therapy and care must be taken to allow the horse full opportunity to work with Saxon.
Late Payment (>24hrs)
Saxon reserves the right to refuse sessions to equine guardians who make multiple late payments.
No-Show
Saxon does not enter pastures or stalls and is not available to catch your horse. Please make sure to double-check your appointment books, or request appointment reminders. If no horse is made available for the time of the session, a penalty charge will be added to the cost of the session.
